Underfoot Feel

The shoes use responsive React midsole foam and include heel and forefoot Zoom Air units to smooth heel-to-toe transitions. The React foam which forms the midsole is lightweight, durable and springy and provides excellent cushioning without bulk.

This Shield version also incorporates a textured Storm-tread rubber outsole. This is grooved to provide more grip on wet surfaces and shed water. This shedding of water also increases direct ground contact for greater traction.

Upper Fit

The upper insulates and protects the feet from excess moisture. A heathered upper and tongue lining increases insulation. Aeroloft technology on the upper improves heat retention but also ensures the feet don’t overheat.

Sealed seams and a gusseted tongue help prevent water from entering the shoe. A protective toe box and skins placed around the toe area also enhance this water resistance. Finally, a water-repellent treatment helps water bead off the upper.

Ideal Run Type

The Nike Men’s Air Zoom Pegasus 39 Shield Running Shoes are great for running through the Winter. Like the standard Pegasus, they still feel responsive across a range of paces, but offer superb warmth and protection against the harsh elements encountered through the Winter months.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
