Advice for Trail Runners: The Nike Wildhorse 7 gives tough traction and comfort for mixed terrain trail running. This durable off road shoe has been designed for stability on wet, boggy trails. A full rubber outsole with abrasion resistant material in the forefoot and heel and sticky rubber in the midfoot gives versatile grip on slippery and steep surfaces. An anti-clog coating on the outsole stops dirt getting stuck in between lugs while a segmented rock plate stops sharp debris coming through the midsole.
A React foam midsole provides a smooth and responsive ride with extra cushioning around the heel to secure the foot on uneven terrain. The breathable upper with mesh forefoot provides ventilation with a padded tongue to stop pressure from laces as the feet swell. An ankle collar hugs the foot to prevent debris getting in and a tab at the ankle helps to easily pull the shoe on and off.
The Wildhorse 7 is a stable trail shoe for more demanding routes. For a trail shoe with a greater foam midsole check out the Pegasus Trail 2.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
