Underfoot Feel

The ASICS GT-1000 12 FLYTEFOAM cushioning doesn’t feel overly soft. However, this means it should feel more responsive at steadier paces. If you are taking it easy, the rearfoot GEL technology offers some extra softness and comfort. 

You should notice a good level of arch support. This is down to the LITETRUSS technology – a denser structure positioned in the medial portion of the midsole.

This support also actively reduces greater ranges of pronation and one is one of the best options for runners with unstable ankles. 

Upper Fit

The ASICS GT-1000 12 utilises a soft engineered mesh upper. A tongue wing construction should improve the sensation of support. Finally, the tapered heel collar design should make it easier to slip your feet in and out.

Ideal Run Type

The ASICS Men’s GT-1000 12 Running Shoes should feel comfortable across a broad range of paces. This is because the cushioning is both protective and responsive. 

They’re likely to feel at their best on shorter to mid-distance runs. If you’re doing particularly long training runs, you might find that a softer and more cushioned option feels more comfortable.

Sizing Advice

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
