Advice for Road Runners: While some runners need more supportive running shoes, some runners also prefer a more supportive sensation. The Nike Women’s Infinity RN 4 in the DK Smoke Grey/Metallic Gold-Black colourway should deliver on both fronts.
Now with ReactX foam, tuned support, and a supportive Flyknit upper; they should feel more comfortable than ever before.
Underfoot Feel
From a cushioning perspective, the Nike Infinity RN 4 should feel protective, yet energetic. That’s because the midsole features Nike ReactX foam – a bouncy material that delivers 13% more energy return than previously used React foam.
Intentionally placed cushioning and tuned support should align your feet and ankles. This holistic style of support has the potential to offer extra help when it’s required. For example, if you tire towards the end of a long run, the support can guide your feet throughout the gait cycle.
The curved midsole helps roll your feet forward at landing. As a result, it may feel easier to hold your intended pace throughout the course of a run.
Upper Fit
The upper of the Nike Infinity RN 4 Running Shoes is all about support. In addition to the tuned support in the midsole, a Flyknit fit band encapsulates your midfoot. However, comfort is also a priority – extra padding around the heel and tongue signifies this.
Despite it not being visible in the product images, a water-repellent toe area protects your forefoot from water and rain.
We recommend ordering a half-size up from your normal Nike running shoes size for the best fit. Nike has acknowledged that these have a snug fit.
Ideal Run Type
If you want to get the best out of the Nike Women’s Infinity RN 4 Running Shoes, we recommend using them for your slower to steady paced runs. That’s because the cushioning is likely to feel most comfortable at these efforts. This means they’re well suited to shorter distance runs, as well as longer ones.
As these Nike Stability Running Shoes feature extra support, they’re likely to work for runners who require additional stability for their feet, ankles and legs.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
