Advice for Road Runners: Looking for the most supportive Nike running shoes? The Nike Women’s Infinity RN 4 in the Jade Ice/Picante Red-White-Clear Jade colourway offer the highest levels of support.
Updated with ReactX foam, tuned support, and a supportive Flyknit upper; they offer more cushioning and comfort than ever before.
Underfoot Feel
If you want to take the impact out of landing, Nike’s ReactX foam is the answer. This bouncy cushioning gives you 13% more energy return than previously used React foam. The high stack midsole also offers great underfoot protection.
ReactX foam also reduces the carbon footprint of the midsole by at least 43% in comparison to React foam.
As the Nike Infinity RN 4 midsole features intentionally placed cushioning and tuned support, they help align your feet and ankles. The dark green section of the midsole shows how the cushioning contours around your feet.
To further reduce the impact of landing, the midsole is curved from heel to toe. As this curved geometry rolls your feet forward, it helps smooth out landings and minimises breaking forces.
Upper Fit
The Nike Infinity RN 4 features an updated Flyknit upper. With extra padding around the heel collar and tongue, it should feel comfortable in all the right areas.
Extra support extends to the upper too. This is due to the Flyknit fit band that encapsulates your midfoot and improves the level of structure in this area.
While it’s not visible in the images, a water-repellent toe area protects your forefoot from wet weather.
We recommend ordering a half-size up from your normal Nike running shoes size for the best fit. Nike has acknowledged that these have a snug fit.
Ideal Run Type
If you need extra support and want to run in as much comfort as possible, we highly recommend the Nike Women’s Infinity RN 4 stability running shoes. We suggest using these for your slower to steady paced runs and long distance runs.
At the same time, the supportive features in the Infinity RN 4 can make a short run feel easier. Especially if you’re fitting that run in after a long day.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
