Advice for Road Runners: The adidas Men’s Adizero Boston 12 Running Shoes feel incredible for faster-paced workouts. By faster-paced workouts, we mean tempo runs and interval sessions. The Wonder Blue/Lucid Lemon/Carbon colourway looks as fast as they feel.
Underfoot Feel
The adidas Adizero Boston 12 feels incredibly propulsive, but much softer than the previous version. That’s because the bottom layer of midsole foam is now LIGHTSTRIKE 2.0. This feels significantly softer and more forgiving than the last version. Particularly if you land on your heels.
Exceptional levels of energy return are delivered by a top layer of LIGHTSTRIKE PRO cushioning and glass-fibre ENERGYRODS 2.0. It’s difficult to articulate how much the midsole helps you maintain your pace when you’re trying to run faster.
The midsole feels remarkably stable and you can take corners at pace. There’s no doubt the sticky Continental rubber outsole further aids confidence levels on tight turns.
Upper Fit
The adidas Adizero Boston 12 upper has changed considerably. While it fits in a very similar way to the previous version, it’s much lighter. This is a result of less overlays and a thinner tongue construction.
Ultimately, they feel very supportive and comfortable, but more performance orientated than before.
Ideal Run Type
The adidas Adizero Boston 12 Running Shoes make hard runs feel easier. They also help you recover faster from tough workouts. This is mainly because the propulsive midsole limits some of the stress placed on your legs.
While you may expect these running shoes to not feel comfortable at slower speeds, they do. The thick midsole feels forgiving when you’re warming-up and cooling down from the main section of your workout. The high stacked cushioning also feels great for longer steadier paced runs, when you’re aiming to hold a specific pace.
Even though the adidas Boston 12 are light and propulsive, they’re also very durable. This makes them perfect for your training miles.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
