Advice for Road Runners: The ASICS Men’s Gel-Cumulus 25 is one of the most popular everyday mileage running shoes. That’s because they feel great at a range of paces. We think the French Blue/Bright Orange colourway looks great.
Underfoot Feel
The ASICS Men’s Gel-Cumulus 25 features PureGEL in the heel. This incredibly soft and absorbent material feels great on slower to steady paced runs. If you’re wondering, this is the same PureGEL that’s in the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 25. However, the Gel-Cumulus 25 feels slightly firmer underfoot than the Gel-Nimbus 25.
As the rest of the midsole features soft FF BLAST PLUS foam, you’ll enjoy a soft and smooth underfoot experience. By smooth, we mean the transition from landing to toe-off will feel fluid.
Upper Fit
The ASICS Gel-Cumulus 25 offers an accommodating fit in the forefoot and grips the ankle securely. Meaning it should suit runners with broad feet. The jacquard mesh upper delivers great breathability, comfort and durability.
If you’re interested, more than 90% of the polyester in the engineered mesh upper is made with recycled materials.
Ideal Run Type
The ASICS Men’s Gel-Cumulus 25 neutral running shoes feel soft and energetic underfoot. For this reason, we recommend using them for your slower to steady paced runs. While they’ll feel protective on your easy runs, they’ll also feel good if you decide to pick up the pace a bit.
As the bulk of marathon training should be made up of slower to steady paced runs, these are great marathon training running shoes. This theory can be applied to the training required for most run distances.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
