Advice for Road Runners: The On Women’s Cloudswift 3 in the All Black colourway is perfect for runners who want great comfort and style. There’s no denying the Cloudswift 3 looks amazing. Its clean aesthetics and sock-like fit complete the everyday athletic look.
Underfoot Feel
The On Women’s Cloudswift 3 feels protective on hard surfaces. That’s because it features soft CloudTec cushioning. This edition has been updated with dual-density Helion super foam, for a softer feel than the previous version.
There’s more to the midsole than meets the eye. You can’t see the Speedboard that’s in the cushioning. However, when you run in the On Women’s Cloudswift 3, the Speedboard propels you forward.
If you’ve worn the On Women’s Cloudswift before, you may feel a slight difference in the Speedboard. It’s now in the cushioning – as opposed to on top of the cushioning, like it was in the previous version. This makes it feel softer.
Upper Fit
As mentioned, the On Cloudswift 3 running shoe fits like a sock. That’s because the tongue is fully-integrated. This delivers a consistent fit and looks great. 3D heel padding locks the ankle in place. While a midfoot cage keeps your feet secure. That’s the structure you can see with the On logo on it.
In our experience, sock-like fitting running shoes tend to be the most popular style for everyday wear. That’s typically down to the fact they look light and streamlined, so they pair well with jeans, tights and shorts.
Ideal Run Type
While the On Women’s Cloudswift 3 running shoes are protective, we recommend using them for steadier paced runs. This is down to the fact that they feel propulsive and not overly soft. We know some runners may enjoy running in the Cloudswift for slower paced runs, but we would suggest softer On running shoes, such as the Cloudgo for this.
As the On women’s Cloudswift 3 is stable and responsive, it works well for other activities such as gym workouts and strength sessions. If you like to combine a treadmill workout with some circuits, we would recommend the Cloudswift 3.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
