Underfoot Feel

The Mizuno Wave Skyrise 4 cushioning should feel soft and forgiving underfoot. That’s because the midsole features a combination of premium Mizuno cushioning. Whilst the majority of the midsole is Mizuno Enerzy cushioning, there’s a block of Mizuno Enerzy Core cushioning in the heel and forefoot. This ultra energy returning material feels incredible.

As there’s no plate in the Wave Skyrise 4 running shoes, they’re softer than other Mizuno running shoes. However, this means an alternative technology is required to deliver stability. The distinct Wave shaped cushioning disperses forces and feels supportive. 

Upper Fit

The upper of the Skyrise 4 is a stretch woven upper. It is soft and stretchy, but it does provide support where it is needed. This is a different upper to the one that was on the Skyrise 3 – which was an engineered mesh upper.

Ideal Run Type

The Mizuno Women’s Wave Skyrise 4 Road Running Shoes are neutral running shoes that provide a lot of plush cushioning. We recommend these shoes for daily training at slow to steady paces. They are designed to feel cushioned and protective. They are not designed with a lot of faster running in-mind; there are other running shoes for quicker runs.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
