Underfoot Feel

The adidas Unisex Adizero Adios Pro 3.0 features LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam and carbon infused ENERGYRODS. For the avoidance of doubt, this feels incredibly propulsive. That’s because the ENERGYRODS work in harmony with the super foam to increase energy return and forward momentum.

As the ENERGYRODS move independently, you may notice a smoother underfoot feel in comparison to carbon plated running shoes. In our experience, the midsole feels stable and copes well with changes in direction. The ability to take corners at pace is made easier by the grippy Continental Rubber outsole. 

Upper Fit

As you’d expect, the upper of the Adizero Adios Pro 3.0 is very light. However, supportive overlays hold your feet securely. If you have non-adidas running shoes, we recommend buying the Adios Pro 3.0 in a half size bigger than your normal running shoes. That’s because the US to UK adidas sizing conversion is only half a size different.

In contrast to competitor models, the tongue is not gusseted. We found this made it easy to tailor the fit. 

Ideal Run Type

The Adizero Adios Pro 3.0 feels extremely cushioned and responsive. For this reason, they will help you run faster over a range of distances. As the midsole is so propulsive, it’s likely your legs will feel fresher for longer at race pace. There’s no doubt this attribute can make the marathon distance feel easier.

We recommend keeping the Adizero Adios Pro 3.0 for race day. However, you’ll probably benefit from doing some key training sessions in them so you’re used to the feel. 

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
