Advice for Road Runners: Looking for some help to make your faster-paced runs feel easier? Step up the adidas Women’s Adizero Boston 12 Running Shoes. The propulsive midsole feels amazing over a wide range of paces.
Underfoot Feel
The adidas Adizero Boston 12 midsole features the following technologies:
- Bottom layer of LIGHTSTRIKE 2.0 foam
- Top layer of LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam
- Glass-fibre infused ENERGYRODS 2.0
This unique construction delivers incredible levels of energy return. However, unlike the previous edition, the midsole also feels very forgiving. That’s because LIGHTSTRIKE 2.0 foam is considerably softer than the last version.
As a result, the midsole feels very comfortable at slower to steady speeds. Then extremely energetic as you pick up the pace.
Despite the high midsole stack height, the adidas Boston 12 feels really stable and you can take corners at pace. It’s likely that the sticky Continental rubber outsole also aids confidence during changes of direction.
Upper Fit
The adidas Adizero Boston 12 upper is now lighter and more breathable. Less overlays and a thinner tongue construction have made this possible. Even though the upper may appear stripped back, you should feel secure and supported.
Ideal Run Type
While the adidas Women’s Adizero Boston 12 Running Shoes would arguably feel amazing to race in, they’re designed for weekly training runs. That’s because the midsole construction optimises energy return and durability.
If you’re looking for running shoes that will help you run faster in interval sessions and tempo runs, but want them to be hard-wearing, the Boston 12 are one of the best options. Even though we recommend using these for fast runs, the forgiving midsole feels very comfortable for long warm-ups and cool downs.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
