Advice for Road Runners: The adidas Women’s Boston 12 Running Shoes are for your fast training days. By fast training days, we mean the days that consist of interval sessions or tempo runs. The Boston 12 is designed to deliver speed and comfort. Built for mid to long distance running.
Underfoot Feel
Glass-fibre infused ENERGYRODS 2.0 deliver a propulsive feel. A lot of the underfoot comfort (and durability) stems from the bottom layer of the midsole, which is made of LIGHTSTRIKE 2.0. However, the top layer of cushioning, LIGHTSTRIKE PRO, is ultralight and has an ability to help you to maintain your speed.
The substantial amount of high-quality material in the midsole should create a level of comfort that helps you to complete your faster training sessions. However, a lot of the midsoles design results in an experience that is closer to what race day shoes will feel like.
Upper Fit
The Boston 12’s upper provides targeted support. You should experience midfoot lockdown and flexibility at the forefoot. With an engineered mesh upper, the Boston 12 should provide exactly what you need for faster training sessions.
Ideal Run Type
As mentioned, the adidas Women’s Boston 12 Running Shoes are for your faster training runs. If you have daily mileage running shoes and race day shoes, the Boston 12 fits the gap between the two. Allowing you to:
- Complete your slower runs in shoes best suited to those paces;
- Keep your race day shoes for race day; and
- Get the most out of your faster training sessions.

Sizing Advice
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
