Advice for Road Runners: The updated men’s Asics Gel-Kayano 29 in the Black/Electric Blue colourway has undergone a number of key changes from the 28th edition  and now offers a much lighter, softer and more responsive feel.

Underfoot Feel

The Flytefoam Blast Plus midsole delivers a soft and plush feel with excellent response, while additional Gel cushioning in the heel adds protection and reduces lower leg rotation. The midsole foam adapts to specific pressures placed upon it due to the 3D Space Construction used.

The one piece sole unit increases the ground contact area and provide a silky-smooth transition from heel to toe. The LITETRUSS support system incorporated into the midsole gives additional stability when required and uses denser foam on the medial side of the shoe to provide a soft, smooth and compliant. The plush feel is only enhanced by the addition of an Ortholite X-55 sockliner.

Upper Fit

Constructed from at least 50% recycled materials, the new engineered stretch-knit upper is incredibly breathability and works with the redesigned heel counter to enhance support and rearfoot stability.

Ideal Run Type

The Asics Gel-Kayano 29 is a significant update of Asics’ premium stability shoe and now offers top-end comfort and reliable stability without the stiffer feel of before. With the high levels of cushioning and protection in the shoe, it lends itself to comfortable running over longer distances at slow or steadier paces.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
