Advice for Road Runners: The men’s Asics Gel-Kayano 29 in the Deep Ocean/Cherry Tomato colourway has been significantly revamped from the previous version to offer a lighter, softer and more responsive feel.

Underfoot Feel

The midsole uses Flytefoam Blast Plus foam for a soft, plush feel with superb responsiveness, together with Gel cushioning in the heel which adds protection and helps to reduce lower leg rotation. The midsole adapts to specific pressures placed upon it due to the 3D Space Construction used.

The one piece construction of the sole unit increases the ground contact area and smooths the transition from heel to toe. Additional stability is delivered through the LITETRUSS system which incorporates denser foam on the medial side of the shoe and provides a softer, smoother and more compliant feel than the previous support system which it replaces. Finally, an Ortholite X-55 sockliner adds to the comfort underfoot.

Upper Fit

A new engineered stretch-knit upper which is made of at least 50% recycled materials provides fantastic breathability and a supportive fit. The redesigned heel counter further enhances rearfoot stability.

Ideal Run Type

The Asics Gel-Kayano 29 is a wonderful update of Asics’ premium stability shoe and offers top-end comfort and reliable stability when putting in the training miles. With the amount of cushioning and protection in the shoe, it will perform brilliantly on longer runs at slow or steadier paces.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
