Advice for Road Runners: There’s no doubt the ASICS Men’s Gel-Nimbus 25 is the softest and most comfortable edition of these running shoes to date. We think the Black/Glow Yellow colourway looks amazing.
Underfoot Feel
The ASICS Gel-Nimbus running shoes 25 feel incredibly soft and cushioned underfoot. That’s because they feature PureGEL cushioning in the heel. This ultra absorbent material takes the impact out of landing and is perfect for heel strikers.
The rest of the Gel-Nimbus 25 midsole features FF BLAST PLUS ECO foam. This is one of ASICS’ softest and most energetic midsole foams. It’s named ECO because it features 24% bio-based content.
You’ll also notice the thick midsole has a rocker-like geometry. This means the midsole rolls your feet forward and lowers the work done by the calf muscles.
Upper Fit
The soft and stretchy engineered knit upper fits like a sock, delivering exceptional comfort. If you’re interested, it’s made with at least 75% recycled materials. As the upper hugs the foot, you’ll get the support that you need in the right places. In our experience, this fit reduces the likelihood of friction too.
If you’re looking for a locked-in fit around the ankle, you’ll like the stretchy knit tongue and collar construction in the Gel-Nimbus 25.
Ideal Run Type
We recommend running in the ASICS Men’s Gel-Nimbus 25 when you want maximum protection. That’s because the midsole feels extremely cushioned and significantly lowers the stress placed on your legs. Wearing these for your long runs, everyday zone two miles and recovery runs should help keep your legs fresh for the faster days.
We also suggest opting for the Gel-Nimbus 25 if you get tight calf muscles. The rocker-like midsole and high cushioning level should reduce the work being done by this area. Particularly if you’re running on consecutive days.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
