Advice for Road Runners: The ASICS Women’s Gel-Cumulus 25 in the Black/Aquamarine colourway feel soft, padded and protective underfoot. This is mainly down to the inclusion of luxurious PureGEL cushioning and absorbent FF BLAST PLUS foam.
Underfoot Feel
The ASICS Women’s Gel-Cumulus 25 features PureGEL cushioning in the heel. PureGEL is equally as absorbent as original GEL cushioning, but is 65% softer. This means they’ll feel exceptionally cushioned at landing, particularly for prominent heel strikers.
While the rest of the midsole doesn’t feel quite as soft as the heel, it still feels very cushioned. That’s because the midsole features FF BLAST PLUS cushioning. This balancing of cushioning ensures great impact protection, alongside lots of energy return.
Upper Fit
In our experience, the ASICS Gel-Cumulus 25 delivers an accommodating fit in the forefoot. By this, we mean it feels spacious in the toe box and works well for runners with broad feet. At the same time, the heel collar design locks in your ankle.
We thought you’d like to know that 90% of the polyester in the engineered mesh upper is made from recycled materials.
Ideal Run Type
We recommend running in the ASICS Women’s Gel-Cumulus 25 on your slower to steady paced runs. That’s because the cushioning feels soft and padded on easy efforts, yet energetic as you pick up the pace. For the avoidance of doubt, we’re not saying these will feel great for fast intervals. However, they will feel good over a range of paces.
As most of your weekly runs should be done at a slow to steady effort, the Gel-Cumulus 25 running shoes are a great everyday option. If you’re looking for even softer ASICS running shoes, you could opt for the Gel-Nimbus.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
