Advice for Road Runners: The women’s Asics Gel-Kayano 29, here in the stunning Black/Red Alert colourway has been radically redesigned. It’s the lightest Kayano ever and offers a much softer and more responsive feel than before.

Underfoot Feel

The midsole uses Flytefoam Blast Plus foam for a plush feel with superb responsiveness while Gel cushioning in the heel adds protection and helps to reduce lower leg rotation. The midsole adapts to specific pressures placed upon it due to the 3D Space Construction used.

The sole unit provides increased ground contact area which effectively smooths transitions. Additional stability is delivered through the LITETRUSS system which provides a more compliant feel than the firmer support system which it replaces. The addition of an Ortholite X-55 sockliner optimises underfoot comfort.

Upper Fit

An engineered stretch-knit upper (which is made of at least 50% recycled materials) is wonderfully breathable and provides a secure and supportive fit. The redesigned heel counter further enhances rearfoot stability.

The Asics Gel-Kayano 29 builds upon the legacy of Asics’ premium stability shoe and offers comfort without compromise. If you need some additional stability and supreme comfort when logging the training miles, this shoe would be a great choice!. With the amount of cushioning and protection in the shoe, it will perform brilliantly on longer runs at slow or steadier paces.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
