Advice for Road Runners: The GlideRide 2 from ASICS is designed specifically to help you save energy while running and make it feel easier. This innovative shoe features an optimized curved sole to enhance the rolling motion of the foot and push you forward. This GUIDESOLE™ technology combined with FlyteFoam® cushioning ensures smoother running motion and increased impact absorption.

Built to save energy, the design helps improve running efficiency by reducing ankle joint movement and stress on the calves and shins. The design creates a soft landing, rolling the foot forward via the curved midsole which is enhanced with a reinforced plate between the layers of foam. The midsole features a FlyteFoam® layer on top which provides a balanced cushioned feel, while a responsive FlyteFoam® propel layer underneath, adds bounce and has a gender specific foam density for the male and female models.

An engineered mesh upper improves ventilation and feels flexible around the foot with 3D printed areas where more support is needed. The stable and well cushioned heel features an improved fit and broader base to add stability and support. AHARPLUS™ outsole rubber delivers excellent traction on a variety of terrain and is highly durable.

This shoe is designed to help save energy while running, reduce muscle stress, increase energy return and ultimately help you to run easier for longer periods of time. The benefits will be best maximised for runners who are heel strikers and is a great option for new runners, runners with calf and ankle problems or as a specific recovery/easy run shoe.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
