Advice for Road Runners: The ASICS Women’s GT-2000 11 in the Black/Hot Pink colourway are highly cushioning stability running shoes. At Run4It, we believe these are a great option for everyday miles and long slow runs.
Underfoot Feel
Expect the ASICS GT-2000 11 to feel soft and protective underfoot. That’s because ASICS GEL sits in the heel and forefoot. As a result, you’ll enjoy lots of padding at landing and extra cushioning as you transition to toe-off. The majority of the rest of the midsole features FF BLAST foam. This is a plush and energetic midsole foam.
The reason the entirety of midsole isn’t made with FF BLAST foam is because the GT-2000 11 features additional support. To explain further, a denser piece of foam sits directly under the arch of each foot. This technology, named LITETRUSS, also has a plastic support structure too. The extra support reduces excess pronation in a natural way and guides your feet and legs.
Upper Fit
In our experience, the ASICS GT-2000 11 feels spacious in the toe box, yet supportive around the midfoot and ankle. As the breathable mesh upper features Adaptive Fit, the material should adjust to your natural foot shape.
We thought you’d like to know that at least 50% of the upper material has recycled content in it.
Ideal Run Type
As the ASICS Women’s GT-2000 11 are stability running shoes, they’re best suited to runners who need additional support for greater ranges of pronation. If you’re feet roll in further, the extra support should reduce this and keep you aligned.
We recommend running in the GT-2000 11 on slow to steady paced runs. That’s because the cushioning feels great at this sort of effort. Given how protective the cushioning feels, they should perform very well over longer distances. They’ll also work perfectly for easy paced recovery runs.
Even though the GT-2000 11 provide great arch support, you can opt for even more cushioning and support in the ASICS Gel-Kayano.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
