Advice for Road Runners: The ASICS Metaracer is designed to make fast-paced training and racing easier. The ultra-lightweight shoe features a carbon plate and GUIDESOLE technology to help take your performance to the next level.
Built to save energy, the design helps you stay fresh for longer so you can finish a run faster and stronger. The shoe utilises a curved sole to enhance the rolling motion and propel the foot forward. Rigidity and structure are delivered via a lightweight carbon plate. These two structures work together to help reduce ankle joint movement and make sure you use less energy in your lower limbs.
The GUIDESOLE™ technology consists of a curved sole design and stiff forefoot which, combined with the carbon forefoot plate, gives structure to the sole. These components help to reduce the movement of the ankle joint and provide a shock-absorbent landing zone. This lessens fatigue of the leg muscles and increases your running efficiency, perfect if you’re pushing the pace. This shoe also features a rolling motion that propels the foot forward, providing a unique running experience.
The Metaracer’s exceptional bounce-back and responsiveness is delivered by FlyteFoam® technology. An engineered mesh upper improves ventilation and stability, while the ASICS proprietary outsole rubber delivers excellent grip on a variety of terrain including wet surfaces, without impacting durability.
This shoe is designed to help save energy while running at fast paces, reduce muscle damage, increase energy return and ultimately help you to run faster for longer periods of time. It will feel quite firm underfoot and its benefits will be best maximised on race day.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
