Underfoot Feel

The sticky rubber outsole should improve traction on a wide range of surfaces. However, it’s the specific outsole construction on the Brooks Cascadia 18 Running Shoes that enhances grip on technical terrain.

First of all, each section of the outsole works independently from one another. This maximises ground contact, therefore improving grip.

Importantly, each section of the outsole features specifically shaped 4.5 mm lugs. The orientation of the lugs also varies across the outsole. This should improve the traction that each section delivers respectively. 

An articulated Ballistic Rock Shield is sandwiched between two layers of Brooks’ DNA LOFT v2 cushioning. This means the midsole should feel very protective on jagged ground. 

As the the rock plate has cut-outs, it works in harmony with the flex-grooves in the outsole.

Upper Fit

The Brooks Cascadia 18 Running Shoes feature a premium sandwich air mesh upper. The quick drying fabric should improve drainage in wet conditions.

A TPU Toe-Cap and Mudguard offers enhanced protection from tree roots and hard rocks.

Ideal Run Type

Uneven rocky ground is challenging to run on because each step is often different to the next. The Brooks Women’s Cascadia 18 Running Shoes should help you overcome this problem. For the avoidance of doubt, these are best suited to technical mountain trails and steep slopes.

Sizing Advice

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
