Advice for Road Runners: The HOKA Women’s Arahi 6 in the Sun Baked colourway are highly cushioned stability running shoes. The unique J-Frame support system offers more stability for your feet and ankles.Â
Underfoot Feel
We position the HOKA Arahi 6 stability running shoes in our Float Experience category. That’s because the midsole offers great protection and cushioning – that feels comfortable on slower and steady paced runs.Â
A J-Shaped section of firmer foam sits directly under the arch area of your feet. If you’re feet pronate to a greater degree, this additional support helps guide your feet throughout the transition from landing to take-off.
HOKA’s signature Meta-Rocker technology rolls your feet forward – making each stride feel smoother.Â
Upper Fit
The HOKA Arahi 6 features an ultra light upper, that still offers great support. Apart from keeping the overall weight down, it provides lots of breathability. Like many HOKA running shoes, the back of the heel collar tapers away to reduce rubbing at the back of the ankle.
In case you don’t know, HOKA only converts the women’s size from US to UK by one and a half sizes. Most running brands convert it by two full sizes. We recommend choosing your normal US running shoe size.
Ideal Run Type
With its protective and supportive cushioning, the HOKA Women’s Arahi 6 stability running shoes are perfect for slower to steady paced runs – over a range of distances. Whether you’re heading out for an easy 5k, or long Sunday run, the cushioning should feel very comfortable.
The rocker shaped midsole is well suited to runners who experience lower leg tightness. Specifically in the calf area.Â
However, if you’re looking for even more cushioned HOKA stability running shoes, check out the HOKA Gaviota 5. These are one of the best options for long slow runs. Particularly if you notice your feet and legs getting tired at the end of this type of run.Â
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
