Advice for Road Runners: The Mizuno Wave Inspire 18 in the Algiers Blue/White/Gibraltar Sea colourway is ideal for distance runners looking for a stability shoe that offers cushioning and shock impact as well as superb levels of energy return.
Featuring Mizuno’s premium cushioning, Mizuno Enerzy foam in the heel, for a plusher underfoot feel, this shoe delivers excellent softness and rebound while the SmoothRide Support Wave Plate gives a dynamic underfoot feel. The EVA foam cushioning combined with this heel support gives excellent impact absorption. The new seamless upper enhances fit and is designed to be soft and highly breathable.
The Wave Plate within the midsole gives added support and helps reduce excess pronation. The fan shape of the Wave Plate also improves the smoothness underfoot spreading the impact throughout the midsole and provides a softer feeling when running slower. This stability shoe uses a denser medial structure so will offer higher levels of stability and is a great option for neutral runners whose legs fatigue later on in long runs.
This is a responsive stability shoe that will feel good over a range of paces and is best for you if you have some mild instability when you run.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
