Advice for Trail Runners: The Mizuno Men’s Wave Rider TT in the Blue Depths/Techno Green/Neon Flame colourway are door-to-trail running shoes. By this, we mean you can run comfortably on a mixture of road and trails.
Underfoot Feel
The Mizuno Wave Rider TT features a combination of U4ic and Mizuno Enerzy foam. This means the midsole should feel protective and bouncy under your feet. Perfect for running on compact trail surfaces and sections of road. The cushioning also features Mizuno’s signature Wave Plate. This Pebax based structure increases energy return and propulsion.
Wgrip improves traction on both wet and dry surfaces. The lug depth works well on road like surfaces and light trails. You should feel confident on flat wet rock.
Upper Fit
The upper of the Mizuno Wave Rider TT should feel light and breathable. If you look at the toe box, you’ll notice a toe cap which improves durability. As with most Mizuno running shoes, these should feel secure in the ankle area and spacious in the toe box.
Ideal Run Type
We recommend using the Mizuno Men’s Wave Rider TT for a mixture of road and trail runs. This makes them great hybrid running shoes. As a result of the outsole design, they won’t wear down quickly on the road. This also means you can run in them on wet roads if you’re looking for more grip.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
