Nike | Men’s Air Zoom Pegasus 40 SE Road Running Shoes

Advice for Road Runners: We’re big fans of the Nike Men’s Air Zoom Pegasus 40 SE in the Black/Hyper Pink-Green Abyss-Baltic Blue special edition colourway. SE stands for special edition. 

Underfoot Feel

The Nike Pegasus 40 SE feels protective, but responsive at the same time. This is a result of energetic React foam and two Zoom Air Units that make up the midsole. Upon landing, the React foam and Zoom Air Units (in the heel and forefoot) work together to absorb landing forces. At take-off, energy is returned by the foam and compressed fibres within the Zoom Air Units. 

Upper Fit

The upper on the Nike Pegasus 40 SE has a number of updates when compared with the Pegasus 39. It has:

1. More padding around the heel collar.
2. New engineered mesh.
3. A redesigned midfoot strap.

The updates listed above are designed to help with the creation of an upper that has better breathability and comfort than the upper on the Pegasus 39. It is also designed to accommodate more foot shapes so that it suits more runners.

Ideal Run Type

The Nike Men’s Air Zoom Pegasus 40 SE Road Running Shoes are neutral shoes. We recommend opting for the Pegasus on steady runs. By this, we mean when you’re aiming to run at a specific steady effort over the course of a run.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
