Advice for Road Runners: The Nike Men’s Infinity RN 4 in the Wolf Grey/Black-Pure Platinum-Cool Grey colourway are stability running shoes. That’s because a supportive midsole and upper construction should help guide your feet and ankles throughout the gait cycle.
Underfoot Feel
We position the Nike Infinity RN 4 Running Shoes in our Float Experience category. That’s because ReactX foam offers a lot of underfoot protection and should feel comfortable for slower to steady paced running.
However, ReactX foam also delivers a lot of energy return. Meaning the cushioning should feel responsive enough to hold a steady pace. The curved heel to toe geometry is also likely to assist with this.
Tuned support and intentionally placed cushioning offers extra support for your feet. This holistic style of support should help reduce greater ranges of pronation.
Upper Fit
The Nike Infinity RN 4 features a supportive Flyknit upper. It includes a Flyknit fit band – a rubber like band that helps support the midfoot area.
Ideal for wet weather runs, a water-repellent liner in the toe area offers some protection from the rain.
We recommend ordering a half-size up from your normal Nike running shoes size for the best fit. Nike has acknowledged that these have a snug fit.
Ideal Run Type
The Nike Men’s Infinity RN 4 Running Shoes should offer more support than Nike Neutral Running Shoes. As a result, they are likely to a good option for runners who have unstable feet and ankles.
With the high volume of cushioning, and rocker geometry, we suggest opting for these on your slower to steady paced runs. Whether that’s a steady 5k, or longer distance slow run.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
