Advice for Road Runners: Race to the finish line with the Nike Women’s Vaporfly 3 Road Racing Shoes in the White/Topaz Gold-Sea Coral-Pure Platinum colourway.
Underfoot Feel
The ZoomX foam in the midsole of the Vaporfly 3 is an improved version of previous ZoomX foam. The outsole has maintained its durability, but its weight and thickness has been reduced. A reduced amount of rubber underneath your feet means that there can be more ZoomX foam. More ZoomX foam should mean more energy return – helping you to run faster.
When updated ZoomX foam is combined with the full-length carbon fibre plate, the result is a very cushioned and propulsive running experience.
The midsole bulges out at the heel. This is to help with stability. A very important feature when you may be putting a lot of pressure on these shoes during faster runs.
Upper Fit
A wide toe box creates room for your toes. That is a great feature as it reduces the chances of your toes being compressed if they warm-up and swell during long runs.
The upper has been designed to have a more customisable fit – in comparison with previous editions of the Vaporfly.
Finally, the upper is exceptionally breathable. Helping to keep your feet as cool as possible on long runs.
Ideal Run Type
The Nike Women’s Vaporfly 3 Road Racing Shoes are for racing distances from 10K to the marathon. We know that many Vaporfly wearers will use these carbon fibre plated running shoes for some training runs. It makes sense to test and get used to these shoes during some faster training sessions. However, we do recommend that you keep these for race day, so that you can get the most out of the shoes.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
Technical Features
- Wider toe area for a roomier fit
- Internal foam pod at the heels for extra cushioning
