Advice for Road Runners: The Nike Women’s Zoom Fly 5 Road Running Shoes bridge the gap between race day shoes and core mileage shoes. The Zoom Fly 5 has a durable design and contains features that are well matched to faster runs.
Underfoot Feel
At the heel and the forefoot, the outsole has significant width. This helps to provide a stable underfoot feel. A wide base is often more stable to run on – in comparison to a narrow base – as you have more material in contact with the ground.
The midsole contains ZoomX foam within a carrier foam. It also has a carbon fibre plate. You should be able to feel the softness, responsiveness and high energy return of ZoomX foam, with the knowledge that the carrier foam is helping with durability.
Upper Fit
Lightweight mesh provides a soft and highly breathable upper, while the dynamic lace-up fit and midfoot wrap helps to provide support for your feet.
Ideal Run Type
The Nike Women’s Zoom Fly 5 Road Running Shoes are ideal when some or all of the following points are true:
- You want to experience the benefit of ZoomX foam and a carbon fibre plate.
- You don’t want to wear out your racing shoes such as the Vaporfly or Alphafly.
- The planned training run is supposed to be at faster pace than your steady runs.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
