Advice for Road Runners: The On Men’s Cloudstratus 3 running shoes in the Undyed-White/Sand colourway certainly look the part. The latest updates include: more cushioning; an upgraded Speedboard; and a more premium feeling upper.
Underfoot Feel
The On Men’s Cloudstratus 3 running shoes still feature a double layer of CloudTec cushioning. The big change is the closed bottom unit. This stops stones collecting and delivers a slightly softer underfoot experience.
While the Cloudstratus 3 feels very protective, you’ll most likely notice the propulsive underfoot sensation. This is because a Speedboard, that runs the length of the midsole, enhances energy return. Now made with a nylon blend, it offers even more energy return than the last version.
Finally, for extra traction and durability in wet and dry conditions, the outsole has updated rubber pads.
Upper Fit
The On Cloudstratus 3 running shoes’ upper feels breathable, supportive and comfortable. An updated heel collar and tongue design feels more premium and padded, without any loss of support. You should also expect great midfoot lockdown from the evolved wings at the lace area.
Ideal Run Type
The On Men’s Cloudstratus 3 running shoes are very versatile, but they feel best at steadier efforts. That’s because the midsole feels very propulsive and makes it easier to maintain a set pace. The protective cushioning also feels great over longer distances.
If you prefer a more responsive underfoot experience in general, the Cloudstratus 3 running shoes would be ideal for your slower paced runs too. However, if you’re searching for a plusher sensation, we would recommend softer feeling running shoes, such as the On Cloudsurfer running shoes.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
