Advice for Road Runners: The On Men’s Cloudswift 3 in the All Black colourway is easily one of the best looking On running shoes. We’re big fans of how it looks and how versatile it is.
Underfoot Feel
The midsole of the On Men’s Cloudswift 3 feels softer than the previous version.
While the midsole is still made with Helion super foam, it now features a dual density CloudTec construction. This updated midsole generates a greater sensation of forward momentum.
The Speedboard now sits in the midsole – as opposed to on top of it, like it did in the previous version. As a result, your feet sit on soft foam, while the Speedboard enhances energy return during your stride.
Upper Fit
Even though we didn’t think the On Cloudswift could look any better, On have done it. Don’t be mislead by the ultra clean aesthetic, the upper of the On Cloudswift 3 is extremely technical.
With a fully-integrated tongue, the On Men’s Cloudswift 3 fits like a sock. 3D heel padding feels very comfortable and secure. The visible structure with the On logo is the midfoot cage. It supports your feet during forward and lateral movement.
Ideal Run Type
The On Men’s Cloudswift 3 running shoes are best suited to steadier to faster paced runs. That’s because they feel propulsive and responsive underfoot. While we know some runners will find these comfortable for slower paced runs, we would recommend a softer On running shoe for that purpose, such as the On Cloudgo.
In addition to feeling good for running, the On Cloudswift feels great for gym workouts. This is a result of the stable midsole design. If you’re looking for an On running shoe for circuits, weight sessions and general strength training, the Cloudswift 3 is a good choice.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
Technical Features:
- Drop: 8 mm
- Approximate weight: 320 grams
