Advice for Road Runners: The On Women’s Cloudrunner running shoes are one of the most supportive feeling On running shoes. At Run4It, we classify the On Cloudrunner as stability running shoes. This means they’ll provide more support for your feet and legs than neutral running shoes. The Iron/Black colourway looks great.
Underfoot Feel
The On Women’s Cloudrunner running shoes offer a holistic style of support. The following technologies increase stability:
- Wider heel and forefoot in comparison to other On models – creates a stable base
- Midsole features a cradle-shaped construction that wraps around the sides of your feet
- Wider Speedboard in comparison to other On models – feels more stable underfoot
- Specially shaped Cloud Elements on the medial side provide more stability
As the Cloudrunner features Zero-Gravity foam, the cushioning should feel soft and protective. While the Speedboard adds stability, it also improves propulsion too. This is because it increases energy return and helps you move forward.
Upper Fit
An engineered upper feels supportive and breathable. As the Cloudrunner has a deep heel counter, you should feel like your ankles are held securely. Comfort is enhanced by a padded tongue and heel liner.
Ideal Run Type
We recommend the On Women’s Cloudrunner running shoes for runners seeking extra support. That’s because the midsole feels stable and supportive underfoot. The cushioning should feel best at slower to steadier efforts. This is due to the fact that the midsole feels soft and supportive.
We don’t advise using the Cloudrunner for faster paced runs, such as intervals. Instead, we would suggest using a lighter and more responsive On running shoe.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
Technical Features
- Approximate weight: 250 grams
- Heel to toe drop: 9 mm
- Over 90% of the polyester content, and over 30% of the entire shoe, is from recycled materials
