Advice for Trail Runners: Tackle the trails in comfort with the Cloudultra from On Running. This technical off-road running shoe features two layers of CloudTec Helion cushioning, providing superior impact protection whilst giving a propulsive underfoot feel. Suitable for any length of run, the cushioning provides shock absorption while the Speedboard delivers great energy return for picking up the pace. This will also help propel tired legs forward at the end of long runs.
The sticky rubber outsole is made from Missiongrip that works well on slippery wet surfaces. On the sole you’ll find three different grip patterns to accommodate mixed terrains. At the heel, low, wider studs offer great durability when heel striking, ideal for confidence when downhill running. Multi-angled studs at toe and mid foot provide great traction on soft ground and help for an easier toe-off. The rectangular studs in the forefoot optimise grip on a variety of terrain and adds versatility to the traction. Overall the grip is perfect for sections of road, gravel paths, forest trail and rocky routes.
Specially designed for ultra runners, the FlipRelease feature helps relieve pressure on the foot when running long distances. As the foot swells, runners can flick the switch to loosen the upper quickly, reducing pressure. This allows for adjustable support and fit at different stages of your run. The perforated breathable fabric has a sock-fit construction for optimal comfort and a bumper design on the lateral edge gives extra protection and durability.
This is a well cushioned trail shoe, designed for ultra distance running on mixed surfaces. It’s packed with features to cope with the demands of long hours on tough terrain.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
