Advice for Trail Runners: The legendary Speedcross 5 from Salomon in the seriously eye-catching Crystal Teal/Barrier Reef/Golden Oak colourway is designed to provide maximum levels of grip on soft, uneven and loose surfaces. Salomon reckon it’s the shoe that can cope with anything!

The shoe features a high rebound midsole made from EnergyCell™+ which provides excellent cushioning and durability. With aggressive, widely-spaced lugs, the grip is fantastic on both uphills and downhills, while the SensiFit™ upper cradles the foot from the midsole to the lacing system. This ensures a secure, snug and customised fit all around the foot.

This is a highly protective and grippy trail running shoe, ideal for a variety of terrains and conditions. If you’re after something lighter and more precise for use on hills and trails, check out the Sense 4 Pro.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
