Advice for Trail Runners: the Salomon Women’s Speedcross 6 GTX Running Shoes – in the Aquifer/Black/Yucca colourway – are waterproof trail running shoes. The Gore-Tex membrane will keep water out (as long as it doesn’t pour in over the tops of your ankles). 

It has taken a while to get to the sixth edition of the Speedcross 6. That is an indication of its popularlity and the care that goes into making adjustments to its design. Simply put, it is a great trail running shoe for mixed, muddy and soft terrain. 

Underfoot Feel

An ideal balance of cushioning at the heel and flexibility at the forefoot. EnergyCell™ in the midsole also offers high levels of energy return and cushioning. The cushioning at the heel can increase comfort when you are running downhill at less than maximum speed. 

Upper Fit

These are Gore-Tex trail running shoes, therefore the upper will fit slightly differently to the non-Gore-Tex version. A close mesh limits debris from getting inside the shoe. Ripstop fabric will cope with the demands of trail running.

Ideal Run Type

Choose the Salomon Women’s Speedcross 6 GTX Running Shoes for trail runs on varied terrain. These shoes will cope with road and rocky terrain. However, they are at their best when traction is needed on muddy and soft ground.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
