Salomon | Women’s Ultra Glide 2 Running Shoes – Plum Kitten

Advice for Trail Runners: Running long distances off-road? The Salomon Women’s Ultra Glide 2 in the Plum Kitten/Black/Pink Glo colourway are likely to be a great option for you. That’s because they feel very cushioned and have a versatile grip.

Underfoot Feel

The Salomon Ultra Glide 2 features Energy Foam cushioning. This is one of the Salomon’s most protective midsole compounds. As a result, they should feel soft and comfortable, particularly on hard packed ground. 

Hopefully the images show off the curve from heel to toe in the midsole. This is Salomon’s signature Reverse Camber rocker technology. It smooths out the transition from landing to toe-off and takes the stress off your calf muscles.

As these are trail running shoes, the midsole has a form of rock plate. Profeel film stops sharp objects penetrating the midsole.

Upper Fit

The Ultra Glide 2 is built on Salomon’s standard last, so should suit a variety of foot shapes. A lightweight, breathable and durable mesh upper performs in challenging environments. The Quicklace® system optimises foot hold and distributes pressure evenly across the top of your feet. 

Ideal Run Type

The Salomon Women’s Ultra Glide 2 trail running shoes have lots of cushioning and a versatile outsole tread. As a result, these are perfect for long distance trail runs on mixed surfaces. The 3.5 mm lugs should feel great on hard packed ground, but should also perform on technical terrain. 

While these are built for the long run, we expect the Ultra Glide 2 may become your go-to trail running shoes. 

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
