As the 80’s drew to a close Saucony launched the Azura, a shoe which strongly hinted at the brand’s direction heading into the 90’s. Launched in 1988 and loaded with new technology, this was a performance trainer dedicated to runners who recognised the importance of what’s in a shoe rather than what shoe is in!
Forget the hype. Forget the hot air. The Azura was part of Saucony’s drive to produce the very finest athletic footwear!
While these shoes were cutting edge in their design and function when originally launched, running shoe technology has undoubtedly evolved in the years since. Up-to-date running shoe models incorporating current technologies should provide an improved running experience, but the legacy of shoes like these remains. When worn as part of your everyday, non-running lifestyle you can enjoy their comfort and slick, retro aesthetic which is as relevant now as it was then!
