Advice for Road Runners: The Saucony Men’s Endorphin Speed 4 Running Shoes have some great updates. The enhancements strengthen the Endorphin Speed’s position as excellent shoes for faster training sessions.
Underfoot Feel
The midsole contains Saucony’s PWRRUN PB foam. This material is lightweight and delivers exceptional energy return.
A longstanding feature of the Endorphin Speed has been a nylon plate, which can feel more forgiving underfoot in comparison to a carbon fibre plate. However, the Endorphin Speed 4 has an updated – now fluted – nylon plate. This increases stiffness in the midfoot while maintaining flexibility at the forefoot.
The new Super Responsive Sockliner also helps to enhance the energetic ride provided by the Endorphin Speed 4.
On the outsole, there is extensive rubber coverage at the forefoot and at parts of the rearfoot. This provides traction and durability where it is needed. However, uncovered sections of foam helps to keep the weight down.
Overall, the Endorphin Speed 4 should feel very cushioned and springy.
Upper Fit
The zonal engineered mesh provides breathability in key areas.
An integrated tongue helps to create a connected and secure fit. This is important. You do not want the tongue of a shoe to move when you are running fast.
Ideal Run Type
The Saucony Men’s Endorphin Speed 4 Running Shoes are best for faster training sessions on the road. They are particularly useful if you want faster shoes for training, but want to keep your carbon fibre plated shoes for race day.
Please note that these shoes can be used for racing. They just may not feel quite as propulsive as carbon fibre plated running shoes.

Sizing Advice
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
