Advice for Road Runners: The hugely popular Saucony Endorphin Shift launches its second edition with the same dynamic midsole and an updated upper design.
This plush training shoe feels amazing for slower paced recovery runs with its curved SpeedRoll technology, high stack height and PWRRUN cushioning. The curved geometry of the midsole guides the foot from heel to toe-off and helps take the strain out of your muscles and joints. Reducing ankle flexion this way will make your slow runs feel easier and propel tired legs forward. The stiffer forefoot enhances toe-off for a smooth forward flow to keep you running when the miles add up.
The Endorphin Shift 2 offers a high degree of structure and has proved popular with runners who normally run in a stability shoe. An external heel counter is made from TPU which extends down into the medial side of the midsole. This design helps prevent the feet and ankles rolling inwards as your legs tire on longer runs.
The upper had been redesigned for the new model, now using recycled material for the textile. The TPU heel support has been reduced around the heel collar for a more ergonomic fit, while still providing additional support. Saucony’s FORMFIT upper feels secure and supportive all around the foot while a durable rubber outsole gives great protection from the wear of the roads.
Take the stress out of long runs and make recovery sessions easier with the Endorphin Shift 2. Check out the Speed 2 from the Saucony Endorphin Range if you’re looking for a shoe for tempo and interval training.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
