Advice for Road Runners: Consistent training requires consistent performance from your running shoes. The Saucony Women’s Ride 17 Running Shoes are neutral road running shoes, with design properties well suited to daily training runs.
Underfoot Feel
The Ride 17 have a significant upgrade from the Ride 16. The midsole of the Ride 17 is made of Saucony’s PWRRUN+ foam. The Ride 16 contained PWRRUN.
PWRRUN+ is a thermoplastic polyurethane. The main benefits are that it is:
- lightweight;
- capable of high energy return; and
- resistant to temperature change.
In short, it offers a very consistent level of lightweight cushioning, with a bit of spring.
Upper Fit
The Ride 17’s upper offers a secure fit at the heel, along with a supportive midfoot wrap. The engineered mesh ensures a lot of breathability across the toes.
Ideal Run Type
The Saucony Women’s Ride 17 Running Shoes are best for daily training runs at low to moderate speeds. Due to the PWRRUN+ midsole, they should also feel good if you increase the pace at points during your training runs.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
