Advice for Road Runners: If you’re looking for a bouncy underfoot experience, you’re probably going to like the Saucony Women’s Tempus. These stability running shoes feature Saucony’s superfoam PWRRUN PB cushioning.
Underfoot Feel
Unlike most stability running shoes, the Saucony Tempus has superfoam cushioning. PWRRUN PB, which normally features in Saucony’s racing shoes, delivers incredible levels of energy returning and cushioning.
A firmer cushioning, named PWRRUN Frame, forms a supportive structure around the superfoam. The contrast in density creates a supportive base and provides more stability for your feet, ankles and knees.
As the side walls of the midsole rise up and feature a contoured design, your feet sit into the cushioning. This further increases the sensation of support and stability in the Saucony Tempus.
Upper Fit
Particular attention has been paid to making the Saucony Tempus upper feel supportive. Saucony’s FORMFIT design works with the raised midsole walls to encapsulate your feet.
Ideal Run Type
Given how cushioned the Saucony Women’s Tempus stability running shoes are, they’re perfect for slow to steady paced runs and long distances. At the same time, the energetic nature of the foam makes them suitable for faster paced runs. Particularly if you’re using these alongside stability running shoes that don’t fall within the supershoes category.
While we normally recommend plated running shoes for faster paced runs and races, these don’t suit everyone. Especially those who do a lot of their running in stability running shoes. The Saucony Tempus would be great marathon racing shoes if you’re looking for extra support and a boost in performance.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
